This piece features a heavily weathered distressed texture acting as the foundation beneath geometric tape lines. The geometric design itself is actually based on a mural I created for an amazing client in Guanajuato Mexico back in 2017. I wanted to relive that specific design creation and bring it back to life in a completely new and experimental way. Creating this was a way for me to intentionally disengage from the constant rigid precision of my usual work. For this specific artwork I ran a test letting the tape actively rupture the design and allowing it to pull unevenly. I have consistently tried to mask these imperfections in the past to make every line flawless, but here I wanted to completely let go and see where the process would organically take the art. The intense contrast between the chaotic distressed base and the raw structural geometry creates a massive visual impact for any modern space.
